Obituary for LaMyiatric Maine Pickens

LaMyiatric Emanuel "Maine" Pickens -- a native and resident of Mobile born March 8, 1982 departed this life Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at his residence. He was a graduate of Blount high School year of 2000. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Lois Jean Pickens, grandfather, George Malone Sr., and cousin, Lavonte White. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother and caregiver, Myra Pickens, father, Carlos Pickens, devoted sister, LaTeasshaa Pickens (Jermaine Curtis Sr.), two nephews one devoted, TyQuirius "T.K." Pickens-Dantzler and Jermine Curtis Jr., niece, Jerravia Curtis, grandparents, Edward L. Donald, Rev. Gwendolyn Hudson, all of Mobile, Daniel (Ollie) Pickens, Gary IN., great-grandmother, Eunice Gamble, McIntosh, AL., five aunts, Janet (Roosevelt) Jackson, Rhonda Adams, Mary Dean, all of Mobile, Katrina Pickens and Africa (Fredrick) Manuel, both of Prichard, two uncles, one devoted, George Malone Jr., Mobile and Kenneth (Rosie) Pickens, Seattle, WA., devoted great-great aunt, Ella Mae Smith, Mobile. A host of other realtives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Kay Thomas and Dr. Tangela Atkinson the staff of Covenant Hospice, Mobile, especially Stephen Windham, RN, and Shunta Murphy, HHA. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, June 5, 2009 from 1-8pm and Saturday, June 6, 2009 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour Nazaree Full Gospel Church, Bishop Joseph D. Phillips, Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Mobile Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Smalls Mortuary 950 S. Broad St. Mobile, AL.
