Obituary for Leo Pettway

Leo Pettway was born on February 27, 1930 and passed on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at a local hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents Josie Pettway, Percy Bendolph; two daughters, Irene Josie Pettway and Lorene Pettway; and son Cleo Pettway. Leo was born in Boykin, AL and was a resident of Prichard, AL. He was retired from the state docks, a retired Mason, and a member of the Goodwill Church Ministries for over 20 years. Leo was a dedicated father and grandfather. He was survived by his children, Ali Shadid, Shirley Mann, and Kelvin Pettway; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 9:00am until the 1:00pm funeral hour at the Goodwill Church Ministries, 1038 Grant Street, Prichard, AL. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
