Obituary for Lillie McCall-Grissett

Lillie Bell McCall-Grissett affectionately known as "Big Mama," a resident of Mobile, AL, raised in Flomaton, AL, departed this life at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the union of Sam and Frances McCall in Jasper, Texas who proceeded her in death, as well as her daughter Ethel Marie McCall, son Nathaniel McCall, a wonderful stepmother Ethel McCall-Murray, grand-daughter Christine Denson, and grandson Gerald Lang. She is survived by her four loving and devoted children: Hubert Grissett Jr., of Mobile, Frances McBride of North Carolina, Sylvia Denson, and Robert (Hattie) McCall both of Mobile. Four generations of grandchildren, a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state on Friday January 2, 2009 from 1-8 pm and Saturday January 3, 2009 from 9 to 11 am the funeral hour at the Greater Nazaree Baptist Church 501 J. Blair St. Mobile, AL 36603. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Smalls Mortuary 950 S. Broad St. Mobile, AL 36610.
