Obituary for Lorene Martin

Mrs. Lorene Martin - 86 a native of Newton, MS. and a longtime resident of Mobile, born October 30, 1920 to the late Mr. & Mrs. George Curtis, departed this life Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Twin Oaks Nursing Facility. She was a lifelong member of Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, Mr. Samuel Martin, to whom nine children were born, and daughter-in-law, Hammolaketh Martin. She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, caregiver Coralene (Elmore) Carter, Eliza (Archie) Sanders, and Brenda Martin all of Mobile, AL., Creola (Oscar) Kyles, Theodore, AL., and Catherine Isom, Atlanta, GA; four sons, Samuel L. (Miranda), Fayetteville, NC., currently serving in Iraq, George, Emmiet (Darlene), Theodore, AL. and Calvin Martin, Mobile, AL., twenty eight grands, thirty-six great-grands, four great-great grands a host of other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary, Friday, January 26, 2007 from 2 pm - 8 pm and Saturday, January 27, 2007 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Memorial Presbyterian Church, Rev. Jerry Headrick officiating. Interment in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Dignified and professional services are entrusted to SMALL'S MORTUARY, 950 S. Broad St, Mobile, AL
