Obituary for Lovell Pettway Sr.

Lovell Pettway, Sr. - A native and a residence of Boykin, Al (Wilcox Co.) was born October 16, 1922 and departed this life on Sunday March 30, 2009. He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Oak Grove baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.B. Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tincy Pettway; one brother, Clarence Pettway; two sisters, Indiana Irby Pettway, and Ella Shade; four uncles, Sam Small, Steve Small, John Small, Jack Small; one aunt, Josie Pettway. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Emma Mae Pettway. His son Lovell (Mary) Pettway, Jr. Four grandchildren Patrona Pettway, Lovetta Moseley, Travis Pettway and Cedric Pettway. Four great-grandchildren. One brother Sam Pettway, Jr. Three nieces Mousuri Charlie, Tincy Pettway, Audrey Merity. Three nephews Ronnie Pettway, Woodrow Pettway and Lavon Pettway. Two Brother-in-laws Joe Hall and Joe Lewis Hall. One sister-in-law Ida Mae Hall. A host of other relatives and friends. Vistation will be held on Friday April 3, 2009 at Small's Mortuary from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday April 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 noon funeral hour at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Alberta, Al. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary 950 S. Board Street, Mobile, Al.
