Obituary for McNeil Irby

McNell Irby, a native of Boykin, Alabama and a resident of Mobile, Alabama, born November 30, 1960, departed this on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dauphin Irby and grandparents, Addison Irby and Ella Mae Irby. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Sandra Pettway Irby of Mobile, Alabama, three children, Yolanda, Kendrick and Flora Pettway, all of Mobile, Alabama. Five devoted and loving grandchildren, Sakendra Pettway, Jamerious Pettway, Karneious Rayford, Savanna Young and Jamiyah Pettway, all of Mobile, Alabama, mother, Pennie Lee Irby, father, Leon Pettaway Sr., four brothers, Leon Pettaway, Jr., Damien Pettaway, Ricky Irby and Terrance Irby all of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Two sisters, Penny Irby of Atlanta, Georgia and Samantha Irby of Bridgeport, Connecticut. One devoted sister-in-law, Carolyn Carey of Atlanta, Georgia, three aunts, Ida Mae Brown, Mary Etta Brown and Rosemary Hooker all of Mobile, Alabama, uncles, Willie Lee Irby of Mobile, Alabama, Johnnie Lee Irby and Lonnie Irby both of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Don Irby of Boykin, Alabama. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, one devoted, Reuben Irby of Mobile, Alabama other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 after 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at the New Hope Baptist Church, 2909 Dauphin Island Parkway. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, DIP. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad Street, Mobile, Alabama.
