Obituary for Norman Alvin Lewis

Mr. Norman Alvin Lewis died unexpectedly in Mobile, Alabama on February 17, 2016 at the age of 65. Norman was born on July 7, 1950 in Mobile, AL and graduated from Central High School in 1967, joined the U.S. Navy from 1970-1972, and graduated from R.E.T.S. Technical College in 1979 with a degree as an Electronic Technician. He eventually settled in Mobile, AL, with his wife and family, where he pursued his passion for working on cars.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Gloriest Evanna Lewis and his parents, Roosevelt and Clara Nell Lewis.

Norman is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brenda Lewis; children, Michael Dunn, William Corey Dunn, Sherrolyn Denise Linson, Chinaester Patryce (Krishna) Morrissette of Montgomery, AL, Marcus Norman (Crystal) Lewis of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Brianna Tamelle (Chans) Roberson of Mobile, AL; siblings, Col. Roosevelt (Carolyn) Lewis, ret. USAF of Mobile, AL, Patricia (Cornelius) Hardwick- Hall of Mobile, AL, Chinaester Lewis of Mobile, AL, Ronald (Diane) Lewis of Meridian, MS, Joseph (Debra) Lewis of San Antonio, TX and Robert (Gladys) Lewis of Huntsville, AL; in-laws, Bobbie (Bert) Ford, Jimmy (Jackie) Sturdivant and Diana (Charles) Fuller all of Birmingham, AL; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


His remains will lie in state on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 1pm until 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 9am until the 10:30am Rosary, followed by the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Major Catholic Church, 714 College St. Prichard, AL, Father Hyginus Boboh, SSJ, Pastor and officiating minister.
