Obituary for Odean Ellis

Mrs. Odean Washington Ellis, a native of Daphne, AL, was born October 9, 1930 to the union of the late Wesley and Odessa Douglas Washington. She departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at a local hospital. She was a member of the Shrine of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Daphne, AL. She was preceded in death by a devoted husband, Thomas J. Ellis. She leaves to cherish her memories three devoted children, Gerald (Louise) Washington of Orange Park, FL, Winifred (Dan) Johnson of New Orleans, LA, and Darnell (Walter) Davis of Pensacola, FL; three sisters, Melvin King of San Antonio, TX, Shirley Washington of Asbury Park, NJ, and Johnnie Washington Smith of Mobile, AL; two brothers, James D. Washington of Colorado Springs, CO and Otis (Louise) Washington of Daphne, AL; five grandchildren, TaKiesha Washington, Kym Washington, Jerald Washington, Cortlin Johnson, and Winifred George; one great grandchild, Kaelib Washington; four sisters-in-law, Jessie N. Ellis, Rosemary Ellis, Corene Ellis, and Irma Ellis; one brother-in-law, Herbert Ellis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 8:00 am until the 9:00 Mass at the Shrine of the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Daphne, AL. Father Lito Capeding, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Loxley, AL. DIGNIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO SMALL'S MORTUARY, 950 SOUTH BROAD STREET, MOBILE, AL.
