Obituary for Pastor Rebecca Allen

Pastor Rebecca Long Allen -- a native of Hale County, AL. and a resident of Mobile, born July 15, 1928, to the late George Long and Helen Harris, she departed this life Tuesday, January 9, 2007. Pastor Allen touched many lives through her ministry and teaching. She lived her life as an example to others, she co-evangelized and fellowshipped with many other churches including Bibleway No.1 and 2 and the Revival Center of Faith. She was a great humanitarian who made many charitable contributions of both her personal time as well as financial contributions. Her accomplishments were far too great to name although she was a longtime radio personality, wherein she ministered to people via the airwaves courtesy of WGOK, WMOB, and WLVV. She was also recognized as one of the Eldest living female pastors in the Gulf Coast Region dedicating more than forty years of her life to the spreading and teaching of the gospel. Pastor Allen was founder and pastor of Faith Temple Holiness Church, Prichard,AL. for the past thirty-six years,. She was a prominent member of the community.She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, William Allen Sr., Detroit, MI., a devoted and loving daughter, Minister Helen (Frisco) Randolph, Mobile, eight sons, William Sr. (Lolita) and Walter ( Rose), both of Detroit, MI., David, Curtis ( Carrie), Melvin, Kenneth Sr., Frederick and Douglas (Brenda) Allen all of Mobile thirty-four grands, thirty-seven great grands and three great- great grands, two sisters, Minnie Malone, Mobile and Annie Golsby, Sawyerville, AL. Special thanks to caregiver Sherita Perry and daughter-in-law Brenda Allen for their untiring dedication and service. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, January 12, 2007 from 1-8pm and Saturday, January 13, 2007 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour, Christ Temple Apostolic Church , Interment in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
