Obituary for Pelman Doss Sr.
Pelman Doss, Sr. a native of Lisman, AL in Choctaw County and longtime resident of Mobile, AL. died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the age of 83.
Mr. Doss was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Cuban Crisis and was honorably discharged. He also served in the Army National Guard’s and Reserve’s. He retired from Scott Paper/Kimberley Clark after 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sim and Hannah Doss, two sisters, Mary Justina Bush and Essie Ely, two brothers, B.P. Doss and Abraham Doss and one son, Harold Doss.
He is survived by a devoted son, P. David Doss; granddaughter, Aprille Doss; one great granddaughter, Dasia Thomas; one great grandson, Ethan A. Campbell of Tampa, FL; one brother, Charles W. Doss; one sister, Wille M. Ridgeway of Detroit, MI; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His remains will lie in state on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 1pm until 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Small’s Mortuary Chapel, Mobile, AL. Interment will be held at 10am on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL.
