Obituary for Rachel Amanda Pough

RACHEL AMANDA PARKER POUGH, age 88, a native of Jackson, Alabama and a longtime resident of Prichard, Alabama gained her heavenly wings on Monday, November 7, 2016 surrounded by her family and pastor. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a former member of St. Joseph Baptist Church in Prichard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Pough, Sr.; her parents, sister and brothers.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her children: Marian (Jerry) Evans, Larry (Brenda) Pough, Jerry (Dianne) Pough, Floyd (Cheryl) Pough, her caregiver Bessie (Samuel) Smith, Pastor Henry (Sonia) Pough, Grady (Mattie) Pough, Jr., Mary Jones, Barbara Powell, Preston (Dorothy) Denagall, and Blendell (Nadine) Taldon; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Martha Parker and Louise Parker; nieces and nephews; Pastor Norvel (Ada) Glover and the Mt. Calvary Church family; other devoted relatives and friends too numerous to mention. To celebrate our mother’s legacy we ask that all ladies please wear hats! In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to THE KOGP SCHOLARSHIP FUND, C/O Henry Pough, Sr., 5107 Ella Avenue, Mobile, AL 36613.
Her remains will lie in state on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Small's Mortuary ,950 S. Broad Street, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am Home Going Celebration at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 505 Price Avenue, Prichard, Alabama. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, AL.
