Obituary for RICHARD MONTGOMERY

Richard Montgomery, Jr. was born August 20, 1977 in New York. He moved to Theodore, Alabama during his ninth grade high school year and attended Theodore High School. He graduated from Theodore High School in 1995 and graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2004 with a degree in Political Science. Richard loved traveling and adventure. Upon graduating from college, he gifted himself with a trip to Europe. He also traveled extensively in the United States. Richard enjoyed challenges and new experiences. He made his first solo skydive jump during his second year of college and dabbled in the martial arts, earning his brown belt in Kung Fu. Richard loved his independence, and always wanted to earn his own way in life. He applied for his first job, working at the local Wal-Mart, at the age of 16. He continued to work at Wal-Mart through his college years, advancing to the position of co-manager of the Wal-Mart Super Center on Schillinger Rd. Richard leaves to mourn his passing, loving parents, Richard and Loretta Montgomery, Sr.; a devoted and loyal brother Eric Montgomery Sr.; three uncles Ernest (Ida) Montgomery, Charles (Jean) Montgomery and Cornelius (Yvonne) Montgomery; six aunts: Gracie Lewis, Merita (Rev. Raymond) Sanders, Andretta Malone, Evelyn (Jose) Mosquito, Matopia Summers, Wenonah (Nolan) Marino; one niece and one nephewâ??whom he dearly lovedâ??Eric Montgomery Jr. and Gabbriella K. Montgomery; a loyal and loving girlfriend Crystal N. Kennerson; two devoted friends: Dennis (Sondra) Blakely and Ellis (Jennifer) Allen and a host of cousins and friends. His remains will lie in state at Smallâ??s Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street, Mobile, Alabama, Thursday, October 28 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services for Richard will be held at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 10661 Douglas Road, Grand Bay, Alabama on October 29, 2010 with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Mark Williams, Officiating. Interment will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Grand Bay, Alabama.
