Obituary for Rose Williams Mc Sister

Rose Ella Williams McCreary "Sister" was born April 15, 1930 in Wilcox County, Alabama to the late Roberta Gullett Williams and Johnnie Williams. She dedicated her life to taking care of her children, grandchildren and other family members. She fought a courageous battle for several years until poor health called her home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2010 at a local Hospital in Mobile, AL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Harvey McCreary, Sr., mother Roberta Williams, father Johnnie Williams, and a granddaughter, Lavertis Irvin. She leaves to cherish her memory: Four sons Freddie (Regina) McCreary, Harvey (Janita) McCreary, Jr., and Alvin McCreary of Mobile, AL, and Antonio (Allison) McCreary of Goose Creek, South Carolina; Four daughters Barbara Irvin, Helen Jackson, Fannie McCreary and Vanessa McCreary of Mobile, AL; a son-in law Walter Jackson of Los Angeles, CA. Three sisters Irene Barber of Bronx, NY, Nancy Martin of Frisco City, AL and Leona (Jake) Houston of Mobile, AL; a brother Leon Williams of Mobile, AL; three sister-in-laws, Eleanor McCreary of Atlanta, GA, Lucille Gullett of Hampton, VA and Verila Mae Williams of Mobile, AL. 11 grandchildren Eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves a devoted niece, Roberta Perryman, two devoted neighborhood friends Iola Hayles, and Albert "BoBo" Franklin and a host of other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour at Greater Nazaree Baptist Church, 501 J. Blair Drive, Mobile, AL with Pastor James Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
