Obituary for Thelma Campbell

Thelma Louise Campbell - 64, Native and resident of Mobile, AL passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 28, 2008. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Katie Lee "Sweet Honey" Dortch; father, Sidney May, sisters and brothers. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Campbell; five sons: Thomas, Jr., Donald, Carl, Tyrone and Jerome Campbell, one daughter, Mary Dailey; two sisters: Margaret Saffo and Claretha Miller, three brothers: Rev. Nathaniel Dortch (Mary), Sidney and George May; devoted niece, Sonja May; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, November 7, 2008 from 1-8PM and Saturday, November 8, 2008 after 9AM until 11AM funeral hour at St. James Missionary Baptist Church at 2846 St. James Dr., Mobile. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Smalls Mortuary, 950 South Broad Street, Mobile, AL 36603.
