Obituary for Thurmond Abrams

THURMOND ABRAMS a native and life long resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on March 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his father Elijah Abrams, Sr., sisters Marilyn and Regina Roscoe; and aunt Lucy Bettis. Thurmond was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at a early age. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and worked at Ingalls Ship Yard before becoming disabled. Thurmond was one who loved in a special and endearing way. He leaves to cherish loving memories, his mother Minnie Dees; four sisters , devoted care taker Sharon(Willie) Knight; Laura Granderson, Kaveni (Edward) Taylor and Yvonne (Larry) Jackson 3 brother Elijah (Karen) Abrams, Jr., Eugene Roscoe, Carey (Shannon) Deer both of San Diego, CA; stepmother Hattie Abrams and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Friday March 13, 2009 from 1:00p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and after 9 am on Saturday March 14, 2009 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1012 Adams Street - Mobile, AL., until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery follow in Gethsemane Cemetery North. Professional services entrusted to SMALL'S MORTURARY, Inc 950 S. Board Street Mobile, AL.
