Obituary for William Brooks (W.D.)

William Daniel Brooks "W.D." - a native of Allen, Alabama and a former resident of Mobile, Alabama departed this life on Monday, September 28, 2009 at his residence in Manassas, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Lennie Cox Brooks, his wife, Catherine Pola Mozangue Brooks and a son, Wayne Mozangue. He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Deloris Brooks McCune, Ella Brooks Everett, Vera E. Brooks and Lennie (Louis) Brooks Bowen. Three sisters, Mary Williams of Cleveland, Ohio, Gravil Morris of Suggsville, Alabama and Gwen ( Henry) Briggs of Allen, Alabama. One brother, Danny Brooks of Peachtree, Alabama. Eleven grandchildren, Travis Everett, William Strother, Tracie Strother, Rianne Brooks, Kevin Jackson, Dwayne McCree, LaVecchia Mozangue, Wayne Monzague, II and Kelvin Estelle. A very loving and devoted companion, Gloria Walder of Gainesville, Virginia and her children, Rosie (Norman) Anthony and Raymond Thomas all of Washington, D.C. Six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Lawn Haven Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad Street, Mobile, AL.
